Hello, my name is Jenny.

I like…

To make things.  When it comes to crafting I have my fingers in a lot of pies!  I like to knit, crochet, bake, make cards and draw.  But my favourite of all is to sew.  I always have several projects on the go, which means I can often be a little slow to complete things and there are certainly a few projects that have remained in an uncompleted state for a few years.  I always have a long list of projects I want to do.  A lot of what I make tends to be for presents for other people so I’m not very good at prioritising projects that are for me!  And hence I have not made as many dresses for myself as I’d have liked to L

To travel.  The world is there to be explored and I want to see as much of it as I can!  Being a geographer and working in earth sciences I have a love of natural wonders with a particular fascination of volcanoes and glaciers.  I love being in the mountains and have skied since I was 3.

I am…

A perfectionist.  I am one of those people that when I make something and give it to someone I start apologising for the imperfections even though I know they would probably never notice them!  If something isn’t quite turning out how I want it to I sometimes struggle to keep motivated to see it through and have to put it to one side for a while before going back to it.  This especially applies when I’m knitting something and need to rip it back…I always find it easier to leave it a little while before taking the plunge to do it.

Addicted to fabric.  Fabric makes me happy.  I have tried to ban myself from buying fabric unless I have a project lined up for it, but it is really, really hard!

I wanted to set this blog up as a way of documenting my projects and sharing them with other crafters.  But I’m also hoping that it will help inspire me and keep me focussed to see projects through and maybe make a little bit of a dent in my fabric stash in the process!

I hope you enjoy reading.
